Labelling in Primary schools
RAY RIST-American kindergarteners teachers used information about children’s home background and appearance and placed them in different groups on different tables.
Those who were fast learners she labelled as tigers these tended to be middle class and neat and clean appearance she showed them the greatest encouragement.
The other two were labelled as cardinals or clowns were seated further away they were more likley to be WC and given lower level books and less chances to show their abilities.
