What is a PAR-Q
The physical activity readiness questionnaire (PAR-Q)
was devised to help you do this. It is a screening tool
that anyone can use.
It is designed to identify the small amount of adults for
whom physical activity may not be appropriate
When would you use a PAR-Q
When planning to start a training program or exercise routine

Why is a cardiovascular phase important to a warm up
Gradually raise your heart rate towards a working heart rate . Can help psychologically
Two types of stretching and their function
Static - easy on the spot stretching
Dynamic - stretches that use movements specific to a sport , gradually increasing speed and reach
What is the sport specific stage of a warm up ?
What is the aim of a cool-down
To gradually reduce the heart rate down to a resting level .
Phases of a cool-down
Cardiovascualar approx. 5m-10m
And
Static phase approx. 10m-15m
What makes a goal smart
In incoperates a specific , measurable , achievable , realistic and time-bound component
Why do we set SMART goals
To keep a person motivated while they are improving in their training and allowing them to notice improvement in their training . It also helps with planning training specific to your goals
