Closed skill
take place in a stable, predictable enviroment e.g when you are taking a pentalty or a throw in ect
Open skill
the situation is always changing e.g. football where you could be tackled at any time
Basic skill
Something that a player finds easy and needs little concentration to do for example a pass in football
Complex skill
A skill where a player needs complete consentration and is techniqualy difficult
Low organisational skill
has clear, simple phases or parts for example pass in football
High organisational skill
High organisational skill - has a lot of complicated phases or parts, for example a somersult
Massed practice
Where the skill is practised until it is learned, without taking a break, this is for athletes with experience and who are fit
Distributed practice
where the skill is practiced over several sessions and with breaks, you don’t have to be as fit or experienced

What is a fixed practice
where a skill is practiced over and over again until it is perfected
What is a variable practice
where a skill is practiced in a variety of different situations, this is essential for open skills, for example, the weather
What is visual guidance
Visually seeing a skill being performed, e.g a coach getting someone to perform a skill so you can see it
