What’s the responsibility of the immediate supervisor for Narcan?
Immediate supervisors shall document in writing any reports of missing, damaged or expired naloxone hydrochloride kits. They have to forward the documentation through channels to the division commanders office. The division commander then further coordinates with the OIC of the mass state police medical unit.

Arrest is always preferred if a member witnesses or has probable cause to believe that a person has committed domestic assault and battery. This includes a felony, an assault and battery of a family or household member, misdemeanor involving abuse, and assault on an individual who is pregnant.
What happens if a suspect fled the scene of a domestic abuse incident?
When a member has probable cause to arrest and the suspect has fled the member shall:
- Have Desk Officer Dispatch all local police departments and advise area patrols
- Attempt to make a warrantless arrest
- Seek an arrest warrant from the appropriate court as soon as possible if you cannot find the suspect.

What do you need to know about the federal felon in possession of firearm?
Under 18 USC section 922 a felon in possession of a firearm is unlawful for any person who has been convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year to possess any gun or ammunition. Any member upon being notified that they are defendant in any protective order or upon becoming aware that they have been accused of abuse Shall:
- Immediately notify duty assignment supervisor
- Surrender LTC and/or any weapons
- Within 24 hours make a written notification to their division commander. A copy of the protective order or modification shall be attached to the documentation.

-Forwarding copies of all reports to the internal affairs section upon completion of the investigation.

It should be treated as a potential emergency that may require a rapid uncoordinated response of specialized personnel in equipment. Every lost and or missing child incident has a potential of becoming a criminal investigation. Member shall treat the scene of each Incident as a potential crime scene.
For questions concerning parental custody what should happen?
It shall be the policy of the agency to accept reports of missing children even if custody has not been formally established. The safety of the missing child is Paramont in the situation.
If custody has not been established in court what is the law enforcement responsibility?
To ensure the child is safe only.
What happens if a missing child is identified as being age 17 or younger And there is evidence of abduction?
If there is evidence of abduction amber alert coordinator shall be notified.
What is The definition of abandoned?
A child whose parents or guardians of scone from their legal responsibilities to care for a child. This falls under MGL chapter 119 section 39.
Note: This does not include newborn infants seven days of age or less that are voluntarily giving up in the baby safe haven act.
What is the definition of a juvenile?
The child who is not attained their 18th birthday. May also be referred to as a child for the purposes of this policy.
What is the definition of a runaway?
A child, often a teenager who leaves home voluntarily for a variety of reasons. You need to know any child under the age of 18 is considered a runaway.
What is the definition of thrownaway?
A child who is caretaker makes no effort to recover the child after running away, has been abandoned or deserted, or who has been asked to leave their home and not allowed to return.
What is the zone of safety regarding children?
It varies depending on the age of the child and is in there developmental stage. In the case of an infant, for example the Zona safety will include a media presence of an adult custodian for the crib, stroller, or carriage which the infant was placed. - Activate establish protocols for working with the media, including activation of amber alert system and or other immediate community notification methods when appropriate.

- Conduct an immediate thorough search of the scene referring to SOC – 04 Lost or missing person searches

What’s a Troop duty officer’s responsibilities for missing/abandon/runaway children?
- Assign a supervisor to respond to the scene

What is the safe haven exception?
In the event a parent voluntarily abandons in infant seven days of age or less any Msp facility, a member will:
- Immediately take custody of the newborn
- Notify EMS and have the infant transported to the hospital to be evaluated
- Follow EMS to the hospital and insured DCS is notified of such abandonment
- Enter all appropriate information in the DAJ
- Complete an incident report
What happens if an infant that is voluntarily abandoned shows signs of abuse?

Responding to routine calls for service you should respond with Du caution. Call us my lack complete understanding of the situation and may not convey the existence of on scene hazards.
When there is a potential that Terrace or WMD event is occurring what should the Responding members do?
Ensure the safety of all responders and the public

The operation at any location consisting of chemicals, mixtures, or processes designed or intended to synthesize, extract or convert illegal or controlled substances to include but not limited to methamphetamine, ecstasy, LSD, fentanyl, THC and other illegal drugs.
What is the definition of a CLET?
CLET stands for clandestine laboratory enforcement team. It is
a multi agency team of law-enforcement officers and certified chemist who have completed the drug enforcement agency (or DEA)basic clandestine laboratory certification school.
Who makes request for CLET services?
The troop duty officer shall request for services.
