what smart material is used in thermometers and why?
A
thermo chromatic film
changes colour in response to temperature change
changes colour ie red for hot makes it easier to read compared to numbers on a traditional thermometer
non toxic and so is safer than mercury
can be used in a film strip allowing it to go onto a forehead for a reading

can show if water is too hot for an infant
can be pigmented for bight colours to attract infants
