what was the arts and crafts movement?
it was a movement lead by William Morris, its goal was to go against the mass manufacturing of products because it took away from the natural beauty of the material and it decreased the nee of skilled craftsmen of which were therefore losing their jobs
what was the Bauhaus movement?
it falls under modernism and uses industrial and manufacturing machines in order to make simple products with metals and polymer. it can be identified through geometric shapes and straight lines.
what was the art deco movement?
included bold geometric lines, sunbursts.
what was the stream lining movement?
America movement, included chrome and curved edge design. very mechanical influenced design. very large in your face design. golden age esk.
what was the modernism movement?
straight geometric lines. basic functional simple designs with primary colours.
what was the post modernism movement?
challenges contemporary ideas focused controversial topics and was no function and all for looks and very in your face. went again all design norms challenge the accepted ideas for design and creativity
who was Dieter Rams?
a modernist designer who was influenced by bauhaus and made 10 rules for good design
