What is the small claim court
A
You can go buy yourself
Aim is to solve consumer claims without involving a solicitor.
Consumer cannot sue for more than €2,000
Has to pay €25

What happens when dispute cannot be solved?
A
Case goes to the district court
Evidence is under oath and can be cross examination
If the judge rules in favour to the consumer the business has 4 weeks to pay compensation
Decisions can be appealed in 14 days
Forms can be filled online

A
They solve disputes between a consumer and government agencies eg banks
You must have tried to solve this dispute yourself before going to the Ombudsman
Helps to have a specialist organisation when going against a government agency.
