This is when both parties bargain with each other to reach a common ground and find a mutually acceptable position. A compromise is reached that both parties find acceptable.
Get help from a 3rd party
A non profit , non government, independent 3rd party provide advice to their consumers. They publish the consumers choice and the cai lobbies with the government.

Retailers responsibility
The retailer is responsible for the consumers complaints. The retailer cannot tell the consumer to contact the manufacturer
Unsolicited goods
Retailers cannot demand payment for unsolicited goods. If the consumer contacts the retailer in writing and the retailer doesn’t come and collect the goods within 30 days , the consumer can keep the product.
Signs that limit the consumers rights
The retailers cannot put up signs that suggest that the consumer doesn’t have any rights such as no refund or no credit notes.
Guarantees
Guarantees don’t take away from consumers rights but only add to them. Consumers can have their goods fixed by the manufacturer or demand the retailer should deal with their complaints.
