SL3 Flashcards
What does ATP do and what is it made of
-1 adenine, 1 ribose and 3 phosphate
-stores energy transferred from the breakdown of Carbs, fats and proteins
what is ATP hydrolysis and what are the products
-energy is released when water is added to ATP and it is broken down
-ADP, Pi, H+ and energy
What is ATP-CP (is it areobic or aerobic, location and enzyme that facilitates it)
anaerobic, cytosol, creatine kinase
at rest what does ATP-CP do
-Cr is phosphorylated into CP a
-CP is replienished to concentrations 5X atp
when you start exercising what happens to ATP-CP and what is it limited by
-ADP goes up
-CP goes down
-ATP goes down
-limited by CP concentration
What is glycolysis (is it aerobic or aerobic, location, enzyme that facilitates it/their function, how many reactions and when does it kick in )
-anaerobic
-cytosol
-hexokinase (brakes down glucose), phosphofructokinase (brakes down fructose 6-phosphate))
-10 enzymatic reactions
-contributes a major fraction of ATP when exercise is above 70% max of ATP breakdown
