What are the major bony compartments within the base of the skull and what are the major bones forming them?
A
Anterior cranial fossa - mostly frontal bone
Posterior cranial fossa - mostly occipital bone
Middle cranial fossa - mostly sphenoid bone

Identify the various foramina in the base of skull. (you have a model of the skull)
A
Foramen magnum
Rotundum, Ovale, Spinosum (all in a line)
Jugular foramen (the big one just lateral to magnum)

What structures pass through the foramen magnum?
A
Brainstem (medulla).
Vertebral artery
