A
- Injury of the skull, the brain, or both, that requires medical attention.

signs and symptoms of head closed injury.
A
- Varying levels of consciousness, ranging from
drowsiness, confusion, irritability, and stupor or coma. - Lucid periods followed by periods of unconsciousness possible.
- Loss of reflexes.
- Changes in vital signs.
- Headache, visual disturbances, dizziness and giddiness.

- Concussion

A
- A temporary dysfunction of brain function, often caused by a blow to the head.

A
- A ruptured blood vessel causing a pool of blood around the brain, leading to pressure on the brain.

A
- Damage to the brain’s neurons, typically from violent shaking or whiplash.

signs and symptoms of head open injury
A
- Varying levels of consciousness.
- Hearing loss
- Facial nerve paralysis.
- Sub-conjuctival hemorrhage.

Radiographers responsibility
A
- Do not remove sandbags, collars, or dressings.
- Take all radiographs with these in place.
- Do not flex the neck or turn it either side. Rotation of
the head may increase intracranial pressure. - Keep patient’s body temperature as normal as possible.
- Do not allow the patient to become chilled or overheated.
- Check the patient’s pulse and respirations frequently while
working with him. - Observe for airway obstruction.
