Bullae
Large blisters on the surface of the skin filled with clear fluid
Fissure
Small tear on the thin tissue that lines the anus
Macule
Flat discolored area of the skin (ex. Vitiligo and freckles)
Nodule
Solid, raised bump on or under the skin usually over 1 cm
Plaque
Flat or slightly elevated areas of skin that are often scaly or thicker (ex. Eczema)
Polyp
Small abnormal growth of tissue
Pustule
Small inflamed, pus filled blister like sore on skin (ex. Pimple)
Wheal
Welts on skin (ex. Hives)
Telangiectasia
Collection of dilated or broken blood vessels on the skin surface (ex. Spider veins)
Tumor
Abnormal mass of tissue (ex. Warts or cancer)
Vesicle
Small fluid filled sacks on the skin resembling blisters (ex. Chickenpox)
Ulcer
Open store on either internal or external surface of the body (ex. Stomach ulcer)
Cyst
Sack of tissue filled with fat, fluid, or blood
