Epidermis- Prevents intrusion of microorganisms, debris, chemicals, and UV, loss of water, performed heat regulation, prevents intrusion of UV

A
Dermis- Protects against physical trauma, contains sensory nerve endings, holds water, contains eccrine and apocrine sweat glands, hair, nails
