ABCDE: assymmetrical, irregular border, colour variation, diameter > 6mm, evolving

Site: MC back in males, calves in females

Late signs: bleeding, ulceration, pain

Metastases: BBLL

A

Superficial spreading

What Ix? How do you stage melanomas?

A

Excision all biopsy with 2mm margin.
Breslow thickness.

T1 - 4mm

How do you treat melanomas?

A

I + II -> wide excision and sentinel node biopsy +/- complete lymphadenectomy

III -> wide excision, lymphadenectomy and adjuvant radiotherapy (radio to reduce recurrence)

IV -> surgical resection, chemotherapy or immunomodulators (IL-2)
