How many types of diarthrosis joints are there

A

6 types

  1. Gliding joint ( slide across each other ex. carpals of the hand)
  2. hinge joint ( elbow )
  3. Pivot joint ( allows the head to rotate back and forth )
  4. ellipsoidal joint ( allows movement along or across two planes ex. fingers moving up and down and sideways)
  5. saddle joint ( base of the thumb, allows precise motions )
  6. Ball and socket joint ( freest of all, allow full rotation, ex hip, and shoulder sockets )
