Joins Great Cerebral vein to form straight sinus

A

Courses b/w dura layers of junction of falx cerebri and tentorum cerebelli

Posteriorly can join w/ superior sagittal and straight sinus

A

Course posteriorly in fixed part of tentorium cerebelli

Aris either at confluens of sinuses or a continuation of superior sagittal and straight sinus

Each side of sphenoid bone

Surrounds stella turnica where pitiuitary gland sits

Receiveds venous blood from superior and interior opthalmic veins

Anastomoses w/ pterygoid venous plexus: a way infections can spread from face to brain
