16
Q

What does the Posterior Cerebral Artery supply?

A

Lateral and medial parts of occipital lobe

Hippocampus

Inferior lateral and medial parts of the temporal lobe.

17
Q

PICA supplies what? (Be specific)

A

Courses b/w medulla and cerebellum

Lateral medulla which include:
Vestibular nuclei
Lateral corticospinal tracts
Inferior cerebellar peduncle
Nucleus ambiguous
Descending sympathetic fibers
18
Q

What are the branches of the Basilar Artery?

A

Pontine Arteries

Labyrinthine artery

Anterior inferior cerebellar artery

Superior cerebellar artery

Posterior cerebral artery

19
Q

Pontine arteries?

A

Branch of the Basilar artery

Supplies pons

20
Q

PCA?

A

PCA is from the Basilar artery which helps form the circle of Willis

21
Q

Labyrinthine arteries

A

Arises from Basilar in 15% of population

Accompanies facial nerve & vestibucochlear nerve into internal acoustic meatus to supply inner ear

Branch of the Basilar artery

22
Q

Anterior Inferior Cerebellar artery

A

Branch of the Basilar artery

Supplies anterior and inferior parts of the cerebellum

Also supplies pons, parts of medulla, cochlear nuclei

Labyrinthine artery arises from AICa in 85% of population

23
Q

Superior Cerebellar Artery

A

Supplies superior surface of cerebellum, some deep cerebellar deep nuclei, parts of pons and midbrain

24
Q

Superior Cerebral Veins

A

Major external veins of cerebrum.
Emptying into superior sagittal sinus via small bridging veins

They mostly drain blood from lateral side of cerebral hemispheres

25
Q

Great Cerebral Vein of Galen

A

Internal cerebral veins joins this vein

Later joins the inferior sagital sinus( drains blood from medial parts of the cerebrum) which dumps into the straight sinus
