Midline fold extending from floor of mouth to tongue on inferior surface
Has swelling of mouth called sublingual papilla
Submandibular salivary glands open to sublingual papilla

Mark location of linguial veins
Sublingual folds
Aka plicae sublingualis
Overlie sublinguial salivary glands and have opening for ducts of glands

I: tongue dorsal surface
Protrudes tongue

O: Hyoid Bone both greater and lesser horns
I: Lateral side of tongue
Depresses tongue

O:Temporal Bone via styloid process
I: Lateral side of tongue
Draws tongue superiorly and posteriorly

Fiber orientation is anterior-posterior
