Horizontally + vertically - they can develop, publish and market games themselves = saves money and gives more power
How does EA have a big impact on SIMS success
Constantly update the app + added feature after
-eg: second stories to buildings, own pets, add balconies = encourages audience to spend actual money to get some features
-updates keep getting people to visit the game + buy the new features if needed = maximize audience and profit
EA done interviews with actual players for suggestions to improve
-helps keep the audience involved and understand what they want and like to maximise audience

Use of SM - in trailers being pregnant, have baby, watched them grow up = real life
12+ - sex, drinks - however bkuring filter to block out inappropriate content - more acceptable for more ages

When released its done and came go back - mobile have to constantly update to keep up with tech updates + to keep audience intrigued and playing

How is it diverse, liberal, modern
Variety of gender, sexuality, race + age
-you can personalise your characters however
- audience choice and diversity is endless
Unusual - media products usually come with set representation
Even with diversity how is there a dominant gender representation
Female roles are very dominantly represented
- activities = being pregnant, becoming a mother, domestic roles as shown in trailer
Therefore may appeal to more of a feminine audience
How does SIMS mimic reality but also not
With activities such as pregnancy - also includes morning sickness = more detailed realism
- the kids additionally will make a mess + you have to tidy it up
However also a sense of not being real
-graphics don’t represent reality
-option of being pregnant for only 9 days + no miscarriages or abortions
But players get fully immersed - they feel it’s their reality
How can SIMS include a form of racism
You are able to build a town that excludes a whole race or ethnicity of people - if the player wants it to be it can be racist showing no diversity
