Simple Systems Flashcards

Q

In this lab, we used tubes with syringes attached on both sides to experiment with pushing the syringes and filling the tube with water. When you push one syringe, the air inside gets compressed, pushing the top of the other syringe up (like a simple pneumatic system). But when you fill the system with water, it doesn’t compress because liquids are hard to compress. By pushing one syringe, the water is pumped to the other side, pushing the top of the other syringe up (like a simple hydraulic system).
