In this lab, we used 2-liter bottles filled with water and glass test tubes. After filling the tubes with water, we put them into the bottles and squeezed them, causing the tubes to sink. When we stopped squeezing, the tubes floated back up. Squeezing the bottle made air in the tube compress, allowing water to enter and making it sink. Releasing the bottle let the air expand, pushing water out and making it float again.
