Engine fire after T/O

A

Full power
Gear up – flaps up
Identify burning engine by visual and climb to least 400ftAGL(550) at full power/82/15 ANU
Cabin heat and defroster off
L/R Retard throttle of burning engine fully. (YAW – motor dør)
Maintain heading by using rudder and wings level, lower nose to 2ANU.
L/R Engine master off (prop control)
Fuel valve off
Estabish 82 kts.
Trim Rudder to good engine
Positive control contact ATC. (if fire is ongoing) “busting minima”
Safe altitude L/R alternator off
Continue as cleared and emergency + normal checklist.

Engine failure during cruise

A

Maintain heading rudder and wings level.
Full power
Gear up flaps up
L/R leg dead
L/R throttle idle (simulate to half power?)
Trim aircraft up and rudder to good engine
Maintain altitude and heading. Min. Vyse. (if altitude cant be hold Engine master inop. Engine off.)
Fuel selectors both on
Alternate air open
Engine instrument check
Aux. fuel pumps on – if applicably?
Test ECU swap. ECU B if power not restores swap back auto.
C/B checked
Still no pwr and time permits emergency checklist.
Still no power Engine master inop. Engine off.
Cant hold altitude request drift down
Land as soon as posible.

VMC revocery

A
  • Close throttle on good engine
  • Lower nose to 5AND
  • Slowly set half power
  • Acelerate to speed above VMC
  • Slowly increase full power
  • Raise nose again
  • Continue climb or flight with minimum Vyse

Stall clean:

A
  • ACSEL
  • “expect gear warning” “expect stal warning”
  • Reduce power to idle, anticipate shift in required rudder input call out.
  • Recover:
  • Lower the nose 3-5ANU
  • Set half power - anticipate yaw - passing “Vmc” - full power
  • “G/A attitude” Raise nose to 1-2ANU, maintain level flight while accelerating for 82 kias
  • Apporaching 82 KIAS, raise the nose to appx 5ANU and climb back.

A
•	ACSEL
•	30% power – gear down – flaps approach – flaps full – power idle “expect stal warning”
•	Recover:
o	Lower nose 5AND
o	Set ½ power – focus yaw – passing “Vmc” – full power
o	Flaps approach “G/A atitude”
o	1-2ANU immediately
o	“Descent broken – gear up – flaps up”
o	82 kts 5 ANU and Climb Vyese(82)
o	Climb to altitude
o	Airwork or cruise power

Descent and approach

A

• Checklists: Descent apporach
• 60%, speed approx 135 KIAS and 500ft/min. level segment 3 NM before final descent.
• Speeds: 110 no later then 3NM before final descent.
o Throttle back for targeted ROD.
o Speed Check - Gear down selected
o Flaps - Approach
o Pitch for 100 KIAS
o Trim for 100 KIAS
o Aircraft under control “3 x green - landing lights on - checklist completede”

•	left/right engine throttle idle
•	left/right master off
•	Adjust power to maintain ROD
•	Trim towards good engine
•	Above 1000ft agl
o	Left/right alternator off
o	Left/right fuel valve off
o	“disregard emergency checklist due to apporach”
o	Verify profile
o	Contact ATC, advise problem and request fire brigade for landing
