Why was the Human Rights significant?
Millions of people al over the world, would turn to it for help, guidance and inspiration. They were rights that would look after the people.
Origins of the UNiversal Declaration of HUman Rights
The genocide of Jews during WW2 and the Civil Rights Movement in the US in the 1950s and 1960s increased global consciousness of human rights issue.
People began to question who is looking after the people.
How many nations were involved in the drafting of the Human Rights?

What are Human Rights?
basic rights to which all humans are entitled to regardless of their nationality, race, gender, sexuality, political opinion or religion
What do countries do when they sign the UDHR?
Sign human right treaties and then make laws within their own country to ensure those human rights are enforced.
Do all countries respect human right?
no they don’t
