Why did he do the freedom ride?
- to publicise aboriginal cause/issues
- draw attention to poor state of health, education and housing.
- point out and lessen discriminatory behaviours between white
- encourage and support to resist discrimination
What happened on freedom ride?
- exposed discrimination in use of halls, pools, theatres and hostels.
- went against racial discriminations practised in the towns
- assumed iconic status as students ensure to have press coverage for conflicts which occurred in towns
- national attention through TV
