How do you identify an automatic signal?
It will have a white signal post plate with a horizontal black stripe
How is a controlled signal operated?
Either by
a signal box (by a person)
OR
a ground frame (by a person)
How can you identify a controlled signal?
It will have a black signal post plate showing the signal number
How does a semi-automatic signal operate?
Either by
- the passage of trains
or
- can be operated from a signal box or a ground frame (by a person)
How can you identify a semi-automatic signal?
It is identified by a white signal post plate with a black horizontal stripe and the word ‘SEMI’ above the stripe. The signal number
may be shown on the plate
