Pectoralis minor
Proximal att: anterior surface of ribs 3-5 near the costal cartilages.
Distal att: medial border and anterior surface of the coracoid process of the scapula.
Pectoralis major
Proximal att:
Clavicular head- the anterior surface of the medial half of the clavicle.
Sternal head- anterior surface of sternum, superior 6 costal cartilages, aponeurosis of the external oblique.
Distal att: lateral lip of intertubercular sulcus of humerus
Nerve: medial and lateral pectoral nerves
Subclavius
Proximal att: junction of first rib and its costal cartilage.
Distal att: inferior surface of middle third of the clavicle.
Serratus anterior
Proximal att: external surfaces of lateral portions ribs 1-8.
Distal att: anterior surface of the medial border of the scapula.
Trapezius
Medial att: external occipital protuberance, medial third of superior nuchal line, nuchal ligament, C7-T12
Lateral att: lateral third of clavicle, acromion and spine of scapula
Latissimus dorsi
Medial att: spinous process of inferior 6 thoracic v, thoracolumbar fascia, iliac crest, inferior 3-4 ribs.
Lateral att: floor of intertubercular sulcus of humerus.
Nerve: thoracodorsal nerve (C6, 7 and 8)
Levetor scapula
Medial att: posterior tubercles of transverse processes of C1-4.
Lateral att: medial border of scapula superior to root of spine
Rhomboid minor
Medial att: nuchal ligament, spinous process of C7 and T1
Lateral att: triangular area at medial end of scapular spine.
Rhomboid major
Medial att: spinous process of T2-5.
Lateral att: the medial border of the scapula from level of spine to inferior angle.
Deltoid
Proximal att: lateral third of the clavicle, acromion, and spine of scapula
Distal: deltoid tuberosity of humerus
Supraspinatus
Medial att: supraspinatus fossa of scapula
Lateral att: superior facet of greater tubercle of humerus
Infraspinatus
Medial att: Infraspinatus fossa of scapula
Lateral att: middle facet of greater tubercle of humerus
Teres minor
Medial att: middle part of the lateral border of scapula
Lateral att: inferior facet of greater tubercle of humerus.
Teres major
Medial att: inferior part of the lateral border of scapula and posterior surface of inferior angle of scapula
Lateral att: medial lip of intertubercular sulcus of humerus
Subscapularis
Medial att: subscapular fossa (most anterior surface of scapula)
Lateral att: the lesser tubercle of humerus
