What is a low angle mid shot?
-the camera is positioned low and looking up at the character
-you can see the character middle up (makes them look bigger)

-scary films
What is a mid shot?
-most standard shot
-shows waist (sometimes knees) up
What is a long shot?
-you can see the character head to toe
-can see their body language
Why is a long shot used?
-you can see their relationship with the environment
What is a close up?
-usually just the head
What does a close up do?
-helps you focus on the characters facial expressions so the audience can interpret their emotions
What is a two mid shot?
-2 people in a mid shot
What does a two mid shot do?
-shows the audience what the characters relationship is
What is an over the shoulder shot?
-2 characters having a conversation
-the camera is positioned as if it is over the shoulder of a person in a conversation
-usually a 2 mid shot
What is a over the shoulder shot usually?
-usually a 2 mid shot
What does an over the shoulder shot show?
-the emotions of the character(s)
What is an establishing shot?
-it is an extreme long shot
What does an establishing shot usually include?
-usually has the environment in the shot as well
When is an establishing shot most commonly used?
-at the start of a film/series
