A
A:The fundamental attribution error is the tendency people have to overemphasize personality characteristics and ignore situational factors in judging others’ behavior while attributing our own behavior to external and situational factors.
- it can cause a lot of contradictory behaviour within a team and cause arguments.

Question 3 (b). What are two (2) ways to avoid ‘fundamental attribution error’?
A
A: show gratitude- list 5 positive qualities of a person when you overemphasize someones personality characteristics
- be more emotionally intelligent- more self aware, empathetic

Question 4 (a). It is often said that leadership and management are different. Do you agree with this? Why or why not.
A
A: Leadership:
- a process in which an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal
Management:
- an act that causes others to act or respond in a stared direction
- process of dealing with or controlling things or people. Interpersonal skills, communicators, motivators.
- Main difference is that leaders have people who follow them (have a choice) whereas managers have people who work them

- captain of a rugby team is a leader. needs to lead from the front and inspire the team to win
- manager of kmart also needs to inspire his staff and lead from the front but also has to sort rosters, make sure the stores meet budget ect.
