Widespread inadequate tissue and organ perfusion
Evidence of end-organ dysfunction
Usually but not always associated with low BP
Contrast iwht focal ischemia (focal ischemia produces acute limb ischemia)
HF (HF will activate compensatory mechs but no evidence of tissue or organ ischemia)

Dominated by vaosdilation and inc CO…this means that pts will appear warmer and may have storng pulses

Inadequate delivery of oxygen leads ot ischemia
DO2 = CO * CaO2
