What is the SIRS criteria?
A
2 of 4:
- Temp higher than 38°C (100.0°F) or lower than 36°C (96.8°F)
- HR more than 90 beats per minute
- RR more than 20 breaths per minute or a PaCO2 less than 32mm Hg
- WBC count of more than 12,000/µL, less than 4,000/µL, or more than 10% Bands
(TTTW==> temp, tachycardia and tachypnea, WBC)

What is the order of events for treatment for septic shock?
A
- Cultures, Antibiotics, Fluids
- 1st line pressor (norepinephrine)
- 2nd line pressors and adjunct therapies

If you are having a hard time getting cultures in a septic shock pt, should you delay the antibiotics?
A
NO!!!

A
Fluid after antibiotics and start with norepinephrine
