What seven key behaviours should you display when dealing with victims of sexual offences?
Conduct your dealings in a sensitive and concerned.
Accept they are telling the truth until there is evidence to prove the contrary.
Listen to what they tell you, give them an opportunity to tell their account the words, even to just vent their feelings.
Medical attention establish whether they require this.
Treat them courteously.
Explain the process you are following and why are you need to follow that process
Advise of local counselling services we are relevant.
What is the definition of the term and decent?
In reference to the time place in circumstances and decent means no conforming with generally excepted standards of behaviour especially in relation to sexual matters.
What is the meaning of consent
Consent is a persons conscious in voluntary agreement to something desired or proposed by another.
The crimes act 1961 section 128A outlines circumstances where in sexual activity a person does not provide legal consent. List five of the circumstances.
A person does not consent to sexual activity just because:
He or she does not protest or offer physical resistance.
If he or she allows the activity because of:
Force or threat.
The fear of application of force to him or her or some other person.
If they are asleep or unconscious.
while he or she is so affected by drugs or alcohol.
If affected by intellectual mental or physical condition impairment of such a nature.
