What are the five categories of driver that police can breath test?
Section 68 1 a - driving or attempting to drive a motor vehicle.
1) . Any driver of a motor vehicle on any road.
2) . Any person attempting to drive a motor vehicle on any road.
68 1 b - offence against LTA.
3). Any person you have GCTS has recently committed an offence against road safety provisions of the LTA 1998 that involves the driving of a vehicle.
68 1 c - motor accident.
4) . A driver of a motor vehicle involved in a motor accident.
5) . Where the driver is not known you have GCTS passengers in a motor vehicle involved in a motor accident.

No alcohol

251 +
What are the breath alcohol limits for Zero alcohol licence?
No alcohol
What are the breath alcohol limits for alcohol interlock licence?

80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres

What does “UNDER 250” mean when it comes on the LCD screen on the breath tester?
Person’s breath does not exceed 248 mcg per litre of breath the indicator light will shine amber.
What does “250 + OVER” mean when it comes on the LCD screen on the breath tester?
Person’s breath equals or exceeds 250mcg but no more than 400mcg. The indicator light will be flashing alternatively between amber and red.
What does “OVER 400” mean when it comes on the LCD screen on the breath tester
Person’s breath exceeds 400 mcg. The indicator light will shine red.
If the driver refuses to undergo the breath screen test, what should you do?
Require them to accompany you.
Why is it important that you verify the drivers age?
The legal limits for drivers under 20 are different from those over 20 years of age.
You now decide that the driver, who is under 20 years of age, must undergo a breath test.
What are the exact words you would say when demanding that a driver undergo that test
“I now require you to undergo a breath screening test without delay”.
