What is a fire arm?
-Anything from which a shot, bullet, missile or other projectile may be discharged.
What does an airgun include?
- air rifle
- air pistol
- weapon from which, by the use of gas or compressed air
What is an imitation firearm?
-anything that has the appearance of being a
firearm, whether or not it is capable of discharging any shot, bullet, etc.
What does a pistol mean?
- Any fire arm that is:
- designed, or
- adapted
- To be held and fired with one hand and includes any firearm that is less than 762mm in length.
What is a restricted weapon?
-Any weapon declared a restricted weapon
by the Governor-General.
What are some example’s of restricted weapons?
- Molotov cocktails
- grenades
- Rocket launchers.
What is an explosive weapon?
-Any substance capable of exploding or producing a
pyrotechnic effect.
What are some example’s of explosive weapons?
- Dynamite
- TNT
- Marine distress flares.
Is a person between 16-18 years old required to have a fire arms licence for an airgun?
-Yes
Can a person under 16 years old own a firearm if they only use it under immediate supervision
