Where do SOR offenders report for registration?
Offenders shall be directed to the administrative services Records unit.
When an SOR offender reports to Records, what do they need to verify?
Records staff shall verify the offender has paid all mandated fees and reported for the appropriate verification.
If an offender has not paid all of their fees, or has not reported for the appropriate verification what does Records do next?
They complete a sex offender violation form and forward it to the appropriate sub station commander.
What must all offenders have with them when they report for registration?
All offenders must have a valid Michigan ID with a digitized photograph, with the proper address.
At the time of verification the offender must sign a verification form. If they fail to sign or refuse to sign the form what does Records do next?
Records fills out a violation form and forwards it to the appropriate sub station commander.
If an offender has the proper identification can they be turned away from registration?
No…no offender shall be turned away without registering provided they have the mandated ID
What does Records do if an offender arrives to verify late?
They still verify, but they also complete violation form and forward it to the Records supervisor.
The Records supervisor will verify the information and forward it to the substation commander
An investigator will contact the offender to see why they reported late, and then present a warrant package to the Prosecutors Office
If a citizen wants to review the list of registered sex offender’s, where do we send them?
The Records unit
Is there a charge for citizens to view the sex offender list?
No, there is no charge
