What would you do if you were unsuccessful at getting into medicine this year
. I have a passion for medicine and Iam determined to get into medical school
. Reflect upon my application and address any flaws in my CV and I would use advice given by medical school
.Would organise a gap year to get involved in voluntary work. A wider role at Marie curie hospice and carry out some more experience
.Improve upon other areas, want to really improve my squash and try and obtain a local ranking
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Medical school completed. F1 and F2 posting. Psychiatry really enjoyed psychiatry placement. Would like to pursue this field. However, I will have a much clearer idea after medical school
Would like to partake in some research. Through medical school. As well as teaching. I have really enjoyed my skin teaching children how to read. Would like to translate those skills into other areas
Iam a keen squash player. Really want to improve and compete at a high level.
If you had to choose between GP, Surgeon or physician. Which would you choose?
During my work experience placement, I was able to shadow a psychiatrist, a type of physician.
Seemed to balance all the reasons I want to study medicine. Strong communication aspect
Whereas I found that the role of a surgeon was kind of impersonal. GP, science was less involved and less in depth
However I feel that I will have a clearer idea when I complete medical school and get acquainted to plenty of different specialities
What do you want to achieve in your medical career?
. Specialising in an area such as psychiatry or neurology. Gain a solid theoretical understanding of the body. Blends science with a strong communication aspect
.Carry out research into a particular field and write papers, with an emphasis on science
. Teach students or younger doctors to pass on my expertise. I have recently enjoyed teaching reading to younger children. Would like to carry that on
