Verbal - Spoken or Written words to express yourself

Non-verbal - Body language, Facial expressions to express yourself

17
Q

The importance of summarising messages for others

A

To condense a senders message into a short and concise sentence which reduces reading time

18
Q

Autocratic

A
  • One-way communication
  • No employee feedback
19
Q

Democratic

A
  • Welcome and value others’ input
  • Rely heavily on team participation
  • Allows decisions from employees
20
Q

Laissez faire

A
  • Emphasizes delegation and minimal supervision
  • Distributes workload to all employees
21
Q

Purpose of a purchase order

A
  • To keep track of what you have bought just in case you need to show it to your supervisor/manager
22
Q

The purpose of an iodine stain

A

To determine if the substance/ fruit contains starch and how much starch is present

23
Q

What is the purpose of a purchase order

A

To control the purchasing of products and services from external suppliers

23
Q

How to identify the meniscus of a liquid

A

the middle of the fluid

24
Q

The difference between the aim of an experiment and its hypothesis

A

The aim is a summary of the goal or purpose of the research

The hypothesis is a predictive, testable statement about what the researcher expects to find in the study.

25
Q

Define transcription error and give one example

A

Occurs when data are inaccurately entered
e.g - mistake in numbers for experiment result

26
Q

2 ways to ensure data is entered correctly

A
  1. Double-Check
  2. Proof-read data
27
Q

2 advantages of storing data on computers compared to paper-based systems

A
  1. More compact storage compared to having stacks of paper
  2. Allows for easy access and editing
28
Q

How to Identify a ripe and unripe fruit using examples

A

Ripe - Has a stronger smell due to the ripening hormones being produced, the fruit is darker/brighter in colour as it undergoes the ripening process, the taste is also stronger then an unripe fruit - e.g browning of banana and softening

Unripe - Has a faint smell and is usually green and firm, the fruit will have no taste or unpleasant taste - e.g green banana means it has not ripened yet
