Interview
A questionnaire given in a written form.

Structured interview
Predetermined questions delivered by an interviewer who does not prove beyond the answers received but my answer questions.
Advantages of Semistructured interviews and unstructured interviews.
More detailed information can be obtained from each respondent than in a structured interview because subsequent questions are specially shaped to the participant.
Can access information that may not be revealed by predetermined questions.
Advantages of a structured interview
Easily be repeated.
Easier to analyse than unstructured interviews because the answers are more predictable.
Disadvantages of a structured interview
The interviewers expectations might influence the answer the interviewee gives - this is called researcher or interviewer bias.
Semistructured interview
Some questions are predetermined but also I some questions are developed as interview proceeds.
Unstructured interview
No questions are decided in advance.
Disadvantages of semistructured interviews and unstructured interviews.
More affected by interviewer bias than structured interviews because the interviewer is developing questions on the spot and may be prone to issues such as inadvertently ask leading questions.
Requires well trained into the ratings which makes it more expensive.
Pros and cons of interviews
Numbers of participants are restricted because of the time needed to conduct the interview and the expense of employing interviewers.
People may reveal more information because a skilled interviewer can encourage more thoughtful responses.
