Q

why do you want this job

A

The people that we serve, the consumers and their families deserve the best care that we can deliver. through the experience I have had as a manager and in project roles I have developed knowledge and skills that I need to deploy to effect change in public mental health services. I come from the history of mental health that we need to overcome and I am a conduit into the future. I have hope that public mental health services will be able to move past the historical cultures of custodianship to the consumer and person centred culture of recovery.

I have the experience of day to day management of a service and I can deploy those skills effectively however I believe that the ability to lead in a transformative and culture changing way is key to the work that needs to be done to lead our service into the future.
