6. Shape the workforce to better meet service needs now and into the future.

The challenge for the HNE Mental Health Services is to provide a consistently high level of care to consumers with mental illness irrespective of where they are geographically located or what level of care they need. To achieve this all staff will need to work together to progress the strategic priorities and initiatives outlined in the Plan. The culture shift needed to challenge traditional models of care requires staff to embrace the Plan and seek out new ways of meeting the increasing demand on mental health services.
