The prickly pear is a highly invasive weed that has tough seeds (+ve selection pressure) that allow it to spread through the feces of other animals. Was well suited to climate of australia (+ve selection pressure) cactoblastis moths (-ve selection pressure) were introduced to reduce pear population where it ate the prickly pear from the inside out.
