Ate a banana 30 mins before, slow releasing carb gave me energy for the performance

Wore tight fitting leotard for no distraction and to be able to see my lines

Danced barefoot to allow me to do do all the movement and not get hurt
Example and importance of not wearing jewellery
Taking out any jewellery that could catch on to my clothes and hurt me or fall on the floor and be a hazard
Example and importance of having hair tied back
Tying hair into a ponytail off the face to not distract myself or the audience
Example and importance of warming up
Did a warm up of star jumps and then lunges to lubricate the joints and increase my heart rate so i’m not stiff
Example and importance of cooling down
After the performance, I did some stretching and breathing as I rolled down my spine to return heart rate back to normal and prevent the build up of lactic acid
Example and importance of having correct alignment
When I hold a horizontal line position, bend my knees over my toes to reduce stress on joints
Example and importance of lunging
Make sure knees don’t go further than the toes to reduce stress on joints
Example and importance of lifting others
Make sure you are in the correct stable base position and bend knees to protect the spine and back muscles
Example and importance of landing jumps
Bend your knees to transfer weight safely into the floor and reduce shock in your joints. Articulate the feet properly using toe to ball to heel
Example and importance of transferring weight to the floor
Use your hands and make contact with muscular parts of your body
