Q

What two types of tracks does Pro Tools provide for working with MIDI Data? What is the difference between these 2 track types?

A

MIDI Track and Instrument Track.

MIDI Tracks only host midi data and cannot produce or play back any sound.

Instrument tracks also host MIDI data but also act like an Aux input track to allow you to hear what the midi data is doing if a software instrument is inserted on the track.
