A

If a law is unjust, it will be broken,the other laws will be questioned, it will not be obeyed -> Civil war

A

Hindus must perform dharma and treat everyone as equals
Ahimsa encourages justice and equality
Gandhi -> Sarvodaya (Hindu concept of justice)
Gurus + Swamis teach to treat others justly

A

It acts as a deterrent
Best way to protect society from murderers and terrorists is to kill them so they can’t reoffend
Value of human life is equal -> one person takes one should get theirs taken
Only retribution for murder is the capital punishment

  • Court can’t always be 100% sure
  • Statistics showing it doesn’t act as a deterrent
  • Murderers are more likely to kill more people to avoid the penalty
  • Terrorists are hailed as martyrs which encourages more

LoM - Allowed to kill to prevent further evil

Brahma cursed wine because of its harmful effects
It may lead people away from God
They believe it clouds the soul
