  • Jesus taught to love thy enemy -> can’t love who you’re killing

  • Weapons of Mass Destruction -> killing civvies

  • Teaching of all main Churches -> Christians have right to fight
  • St Paul in Romans 13 and Titus 3 -> Obey orders of Gov
  • Jesus never condemned soldiers
  • Everyone agrees that a police/army is needed to protect innocents

  • Ahimsa -> core and moral teaching of Hinduism
  • Fighting war darkens your soul and puts it further away from moksha
  • Gandhi’s Satyagraha -> truth force -> can remove injustice pacifily
  • Modern weapons cause so much suffering it is against Hinduism teachings

  • Warrior caste -> defend society by war if necessary
  • Bhagavad Gita -> warriors must fight in wars -> don’t fear dying cos if you die, you will be reincarnated
  • LoM -> civs must not be hurt, any surrenders must be disarmed

  • Duty to protect the weak e.g Parable of GS
  • Para of Sheep+Goats -> should treat anyone in trouble as Jesus. no Ch would bully Jesus

  • Human right - life free from fear -> Hindus protect these rights

  • Jesus -> if you don’t forgive sinners, god won’t forgive you for your skins
  • St Paul ->Ch should live in peace with everyone -> need reconciliation
  • Ch based on forgiveness and reconciliation. Ch should be committed to forgiveness
  • Jesus allowed reconciliation between god and human. Died on cross

  • Gunas -> forgiv+recon are a quality of light (sattva)
  • Upanishads -> danger to ones soul if he doesn’t forgive
  • Swamis taught forgive and to bring recon -> part of moksha
  • Refusing recon+forgiv means soul is bitter and twisted -> prevent moksha
