- <170F equals a rate of 20F/hour
- 170F to <= 250F equals a rate of 40F/hour
- >250F to <=350F equals a rate of 60F/hour unless on SDC, then 40F
- >350F equals a rate of 100F/hour
Cool Down
- 110F to 135F soak for 3 hours, then 20F/hour
- <170F equals a rate of 40F/hour
- 170F to <= 250F equals a rate of 40F/hour
- >250F to <=350F equals a rate of 60F/hour
- >350F equals a rate of 100F/hour

1. All primary coolant pumps may not be in operation for ≤ 1 hour per 8 hour period, provided:
a. No operations are permitted that would cause reduction of the PCS boron concentration; and
b. Core outlet temperature is maintained at least 10°F below saturation temperature.
2. Forced circulation (starting the first primary coolant pump) shall not be initiated unless one of the following conditions is met:
a. PCS cold leg temperature (Tc) is > 430°F;
b. Steam Generator (SG) secondary temperature is equal to or less than the reactor inlet temperature (Tc);
c. SG secondary temperature is < 100°F above Tc, and shutdown cooling is isolated from the PCS, and PCS heatup/cooldown rate is ≤ 10°F/hour; or
d. SG secondary temperature is < 100°F above Tc, and shutdown cooling is isolated from the PCS, and pressurizer level is ≤ 57%.
No PCS Loop Operable or No PCS Loop in Operation; IMMEDIATELY suspend dilution operations and initiate actions to restore to operating/operable.
What is T.S. 3.4.6 PCS Loops - MODE 4?

- Two loops or trains consisting of any combination of PCS loops and Shutdown Cooling (SDC) trains shall be OPERABLE, and either:
a. One PCS loop shall be in operation; or
b. One SDC train shall be in operation with ≥ 2810 gpm flow through the reactor core.
1 PCS Loop and both SDC trains inoperable, IMMEDIATELY begin actions to restore a PCS Loop or SDC train to OPERABLE status.
No PCS Loops or SDC trains operable, IMMEDIATELY suspend dilutions and either restore a PCS Loop or SDC flow to > 2810 gpm.

b. The secondary side water level of each Steam Generator (SG) shall be ≥ -84%

- One SDC train inoperable AND Any SG with secondary side water level not within limit - IMMEDIATELY restore a 2nd SDC train or raise SG water levels
- Two SDC trains inoperable OR SDC flow thru core not within limit, IMMEDIATELY suspend dilution activities and initiate actions to restore SDC train to OPERABLE with flow greater than 2810 gpm.

Two Shutdown Cooling (SDC) trains shall be OPERABLE, and either:
a. One SDC train in operation with ≥ 2810 gpm flow through the reactor core; or
b. One SDC train in operation with ≥ 650 gpm flow through the reactor core with two of the three charging pumps incapable of reducing the boron concentration in the PCS below the minimum value necessary to maintain the required SHUTDOWN MARGIN.

- 1 SDC Train inoperable, IMMEDIATELY initiate action to restore to operable.
- 2 SDC Trains inoperable or SDC flow not in limits, IMMEDIATELY suspend dilution operations AND restore 1 train to operable with flow within limit.

The pressurizer shall be OPERABLE with:
a. Pressurizer water level < 62.8%;

c. ≥ 375 kW of pressurizer heater capacity available from electrical bus 1E with the capability of being powered from an emergency power supply.

Applicable MODES 1 and 2, MODE 3 with all PCS cold leg temperatures >=430F
Each PORV and associated block valve shall be OPERABLE.

- PORV inoperable, close associated block valve within 1 hour
- Block valve inoperable, place associated PORV in manual within 1 hour
- Do the same if its both PORVs or both Block Valves.

T.S. 3.4.12 Low Temperature Overpressure Protection (LTOP) System
Applicable MODE 3 when any PCS cold leg temperature is < 430°F, MODES 4 and 5, MODE 6 when the reactor vessel head is on.
An LTOP System shall be OPERABLE with:
a. Both High Pressure Safety Injection (HPSI) pumps incapable of
injecting into the PCS, and

1. LCO 3.4.12.a is only required when any PCS cold leg temperature is < 300°F.
2. LCO 3.4.12.a does not prohibit the use of the HPSI pumps for emergency addition of makeup to the PCS.

b. One of the following pressure relief capabilities:
1. Two Power Operated Relief Valves (PORVs) with lift settings as specified in Figure 3.4.12-1; or
2. The PCS depressurized and a PCS vent capable of relieving >= 167 gpm at a pressure of 315 psia.

Immediately initiate action to verify no HPSI pump can inject into PCS when One or two HPSI pumps capable of injecting into the PCS.

PCS operational LEAKAGE shall be limited to:
a. No pressure boundary LEAKAGE;
b. 1 gpm unidentified LEAKAGE;
c. 10 gpm identified LEAKAGE; and
d. 150 gallons per day primary to secondary LEAKAGE through any
one steam generator (SG).

Leakage from each PCS PIV shall be within limits and both Shutdown Cooling (SDC) suction valve interlocks shall be OPERABLE.

Applicable MODES 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Three of the following PCS leakage detection instrumentation channels shall be OPERABLE:
a. One containment sump level indicating channel;
b. One containment atmosphere gaseous activity monitoring channel;
c. One containment air cooler condensate level switch channel;
d. One containment atmosphere humidity monitoring channel.
All required channels inoperable, IMMEDIATELY enter LCO 3.0.3
