To apply for a personal licence, what four criteria must you satisfy?
- Be 18 or over
- Possess a relevant qualification
- Not have a personal licence revoked or forfeited in the last 5 years
- Declare any convictions for relevant offences or foreign offences
What is a personal licence?
Allows a person to sell alcohol or authorise the sale of alcohol in England and Wales, as long as the sale is in accordance with the terms of the premises licence where the sale is taking place
To apply for a personal licence, what 6 things must you submit?
- A completed application form
- An original certificate of a relevant licensing qualification
- Two photos
- A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate
- Disclosure of convictions and declaration form
- Appropriate fee
How long is a personal licence valid for?
10 years

PLHs are legally responsible for what five things?
- Notifying the licensing authority if there is a change in their address or name
- Producing their licence for examination if requested by any police constable or authorised officer of the licensing authority
- Informing the licensing authority of a conviction for a relevant offence, and surrendering their licence
- Notifying the court that they hold a personal licence if charged with a relevant offence
- Producing their licence to the licensing authority if they are notified of a conviction by a court
