Physical Cable and Source Selection
Different issues related to the physical hardware could cause video issues
1. broken cable: physically inspect the cable and replace if damaged
2. cable is not properly inserted: make sure the cable is fully seated in the port
3. cheap cable
4. Incorrect data source selected: ensure the correct input source is selected
5. HDMI device issue: for streaming devices, they use DHCP to protect content.
- restart the TV
- upgrade the quality of the HDMI cable
Projector Issues
If there is no display ensure the cabling is properly connected for the projector
Dim images:
bulb may need to replaced. Check the bulb time in settings
No image:
bulb is burnt out, replace
Shutdown or restarts:
usually overheating, clean cooling fans and vents.
No source input will also cause this. Ensure it is properly connected
Video Quality Images
Dim images: no brightness or color contrast controls set for displays. Use built in controls to set these levels.
Fuzzy images: occurs when the output resolution is lower than what the display can use. Change the output resolution to correct this.
Flashing screens: means the cable is not properly seated. Reseat cable or replace.
Dead pixels: ensure the pixel is actually dead. replace display
Burn-in: permanent damage to display. replace display and use animated screensaver/automatic sleep to prevent
Incorrect color display: color bit setting may be incorrect.
