How did the role of the printing press expand religion?

A

The growth of Grammar schools and literacy saw an increase in the numbers of people buying their own Bible. Bibles were still in Latin and those which were imported from Antwerp were considered Heresy. Also books such as the Canterbury Tales became popular which gave moral stories with a religious background.
