Define scientific method??
A process of understanding the natural world through observation and testing of a hypothesis.
Define hypothesis??
A possible explanation to the question at hand.
Define prediction??
Logical expectations in view of hypothesis.
Independent variable??
The factor being changed or manipulated by me.
Dependent variable??
Response being measured or observed. What we expect to change by manipulating the independent variable.
Control variable??
A constant and unchanging standard of comparison.
Experimental group??
Subjected to treatment or change in independent variable.
Control group??
Group closely resembling the experimental group, but not receiving the factor under study.
How are results presented??
1) data sheets
2) tables
3) graphs
