What is an abstract

A
  • summary of entire research in 150-200 words written last out of all sections but is at the beginning of the report
  • allows the reader to know if the report is relevant and worth reading

A
  • gives background information around the research area, includes previous research and justification as to why the current research is being conducted

  • section that allows other researchers to replicate the research
  • includes the study design, the sample and how it was gathered, materials and equipment and a complete standardised procedure
